3. Watch as widows transform recycled magazines into elegant jewelry and artisans craft unique pieces from ethically sourced bone.

While we cannot visit every corner, this tour allows you to witness the industry and ingenuity of Kibera’s people firsthand.

1. Be Present, Not Just a Spectator: We discourage excessive photography and "spectator" behavior. Instead, engage with the community. A warm "Habari" (Hello), a cheer for children at play, or letting a local resident pass first on a narrow path goes a long way.
2. Support the Local Economy: We encourage small gestures, such as buying a soda or bottled water from a local shop or purchasing handmade crafts directly from the artisans.
3. The "No-Cash" Policy: To prevent creating a culture of dependency or unrealistic expectations, we strictly discourage giving money to individuals.

Kindly note that we meet you at Equity Bank Kibera close to the ATM. The area is safe and open. The security officers present are always helpful and kind.
